Website design & development for an antiques online store
The Brief
Jeroen Markies is an antique business that specialises in selling Art Deco furniture and decorative items both online and at antique fairs. They were in need of an online shop and website that gave them an easy to use CMS that would allow them to be in control of their website and carry out daily updates and revisions.
They were looking for a reliable, secure e-commerce solution with a user-friendly CMS, that they could manage on a day to day basis. Ease of selling to a global marketplace and customisation of their online store to allow shipping to international customers on a quote by quote basis was also an important consideration for them.
The Result
The site is built on Shopify, one of the best platforms for e-commerce websites. I focused the homepage design on large slideshow images of their most beautiful pieces which can be easily changed by them as new stock comes in. I also incorporated a new arrivals section prominently on the homepage as their pieces change frequently. I customised the shipping profiles to allow international buyers to purchase with additional information about shipping quotes to their locations and included an events page to promote the upcoming antiques fairs they would be attending. In addition to designing and building their website, I have also continued to work and advise Jeroen on social media marketing, GDPR, Google advertising and email marketing.
